With the world premiere of the complete version of Joe/Hab et swa is ait en for vocal ensemble, Uwe Rasch presents a visionary music theater concert. It explores how digitalization affects the way we live together. Composed between 1998 and 2008, the work anticipates developments that shape our everyday lives today: the shift of experience into digital spaces, the growing distance between action and consequence, and the gradual loss of physical presence in social relationships.
The work unfolds a web of voices, space, and movement. The movement performers, originally conceived to be seen live only through mirrors, are presented as video in this performance. This intensifies the engagement with simulation, presence, and absence. Rasch's work takes a critical look at a present in which digital technologies increasingly shape our experiences – and asks what happens, in the process, to our sensory, emotional, and social selves.
