Since its founding in 2011, the Freie Jugendorchesterschule Berlin, which introduces even the youngest children to orchestral playing, has been a regular guest at Klangwerkstatt Berlin. This year, too, it presents a rousing and adventurous program. Featuring a large orchestra as well as smaller ensembles, this year’s concert centers on the sun, its rays, and the processes of growth and flourishing — as a metaphor for the development of the young musicians themselves.

The program features a performance of Konrad Fichtner's short music-theater piece Frederick, based on the picture book of the same name by Leo Lionni, along with works by Jobst Liebrecht, Andreas Frey, Paul Leenhouts, as well as results from the FJOSB composition workshop.
